54Reference• Even though listed above, some types may beunplayable.*1 Discs should be finalized before being playedback.*2 This system may not recognize some USBdevices. This system cannot play back a filewhose data volume is more than 2 gigabytesand a file whose data transfer rate is more than2 Mbps.*3 DVD VR means a DVD-R/DVD-RW recorded inVideo Recording (VR) format.*4 A CD-R/CD-RW recorded in multi-session for-mat (up to 20 sessions) is playable.*5 A DVD-R recorded in multi-border format is alsoplayable (including dual layer discs).*6 For files recorded on a DVD-R/DVD-RW, thedisc should be formatted with UDF Bridge.It is possible to play back finalized +R/+RW (DVDVideo Format only) discs. “DVD” lights on the frontdisplay panel when a +R/+RW disc is loaded.Some discs may not be played back because oftheir disc characteristics, recording conditions, ordamage or stains on them.Only sounds can be played back from the followingdiscs:MIX-MODE CD CD-GCD-EXTRA CD TEXTThis system accommodates the PAL and NTSCsystems. When you play back an NTSC disc withthe video signal type set to “PAL. 576I”,“PAL. 576P”, “PAL. 720P”, “PAL.1080I” or“PAL.1080P” (refer to pages 10 and 11), the NTSCvideo signal is converted to the PAL60 signal andoutput.Region code of DVD VIDEODVD VIDEO players and DVD VIDEO discs havetheir own region code numbers. This system canplay back a DVD VIDEO whose region code num-ber includes the system’s region code, which isindicated on the rear panel of the main unit.Examples:If a DVD VIDEO with an improper region codenumber is loaded, playback cannot start.• On some DVD VIDEOs, DVD AUDIOs, VCDs,SVCDs or DivX files, their actual operationmay be different from what is explained inthis manual.
