When a wide screen picture isinput, the left and right edges of the pic-ture are not shown on the screen. (If thedisc/file is not compatible with Pan Scan,the picture is displayed at the Letterboxratio.):For a TV with conventional 4:3 aspectratio. When a wide screen picture isinput, black bars appear on the top andbottom of the screen.16 : 9 :For an ordinary wide TV.PICTURESOURCESelect the item suitable to the videosource.:The video source type (a video or film) isautomatically selected.FILM :To view a film or video recorded with theprogressive scan method.VIDEO (ACTIVE) :Suitable for playing back a video with alot of action.VIDEO (NORMAL) :Suitable for playing back a video withouta lot of action.4 : 3 LB (Letterbox)AUTOSCREENSAVER You can turn or OFF the screensaver. The screen saver activates whenthere is no operation made for approxi-mately 5 minutes since a still picture waslast displayed.NOTE• This function does not work when thissystem outputs the video signal via the[HDMI] terminal.FILE TYPE When files of different types are recordedon a disc or connected USB mass stor-age class device, select the file typebefore playback.:For MP3/WMA/WAV files.STILL PICTURE :For JPEG files.VIDEO :For ASF/DivX/MPEG1/MPEG2 files.HDMI DVICOLORYou can select the settings for the pictureappearance (image quality, color intensityand black fading) on the TV connected tothe [HDMI] terminal.STANDARD :For normal usage.:The main unit automatically adjusts thepicture appearance.HDMI OUT You can select the video signal type out-put from the [HDMI] terminal.:For normal usage.
