WARNING: The product is heavyand can cause injury or damage toproperty or the adjacent area. Do not domaintenance on the engine or the cuttingdeck without these conditions:• The engine is off.• The product is parked on a levelsurface.• The parking brake is applied.• The ignition key in stop position andremoved.• The blades are disengaged.• All moving parts have stopped.• The ignition cables are removed fromthe spark plugs.WARNING: Fluid escaping underpressure may have sufficient force topenetrate skin and cause serious injury.If fluid is injected into the skin, seekimmediate medical attention. Keep bodyand hands away from pin holes ornozzles that eject fluid under highpressure. If a leak occurs, have theproduct immediately serviced by atrained technician.WARNING: The exhaust fumesfrom the engine contain carbonmonoxide, an odorless, poisonous andvery dangerous gas. Do not run theproduct in closed spaces or spaces withno sufficient air flow.• Keep the product in good working order. Replaceworn or damaged parts.Use caution when servicing blades. Wrap theblade(s) or wear gloves. Replace damagedblades. Do not repair or alter blade(s).If equipped, disconnect spark plug wire(s) andthe negative battery cable before making anyrepairs.For best performance and safety, domaintenance on the product regularly as given inthe maintenance schedule. Refer toMaintenanceschedule on page 15.• Electrical shocks can cause injuries. Do nottouch the cables when the engine is on. Do notdo a function test on the ignition system with yourfingers.• Let the product become cool before you domaintenance near the engine.• The blades are sharp and can cause cuts. Windprotection around the blades or use protectivegloves when you do work on the blades.• Do not turn the engine over if the spark plug orignition cable is removed.• Make sure that all nuts and bolts are tightenedcorrectly and that the equipment is in goodcondition.• Do not change the adjustment of governors.If the engine speed is too high, the productcomponents can become damaged.
