Silica is a basic component of sand,quartz, brick clay, granite and numerousother minerals and rocks. Exposure toexcessive amount of such dust can cause:Respiratory disease (affecting your ability tobreathe), including chronic bronchitis,silicosis and pulmonary fibrosis fromexposure to silica. These diseases may befatal;Skin irritation and rash.Cancer according to NTP* and IARC* */National Toxicology Program, InternationalAgency for Research on Cancer.Take precautionary steps:Avoid inhalation of and skin contact withdust, mist and fumes.Wear and ensure that all bystanders wearappropriate respiratory protection such asdust masks designed to filter outmicroscopic particles. (See OSHA 29 CFRPart 1926.1153)To minimize dust emissions, use water tobind the dust, when feasible. If dry operationis necessary, use an appropriate dustextractor.It is the owner’s/employer’s responsibility that theoperator has sufficient knowledge about how to use theproduct safely. Supervisors and operators must haveread and understood the Operator’s Manual. They mustbe aware of:• The product’s safety instructions.• The product’s range of applications and limitations.• How the product is to be used and maintained.National/Local regulations could restrict the use of thisproduct. Find out what regulations are applicable whereyou work before you start using the product.Product descriptionThe product is a floor grinder for surfaces of differenthardness.Intended useThe product is used to grind surfaces of materials withdifferent hardness such as natural stone, terazzo andconcrete. Also use the product to grind cover materialssuch as epoxy and glue. The finish of the surface can berough or smooth. The product can be used for drygrinding and wet grinding.
