Husqvarna HG 125 VS Original Instructions Manual
-5-helps to protect the operator from brokenwheel fragments, accidental contact withwheel and sparks that could ignite clothing.Wheels must be used only for recommendedapplications. For example: do not grind withthe side of cut-off wheel. Abrasive cut-offwheels are intended for peripheral grinding, side forces applied to these wheels may causethem to shatter.Always use undamaged wheel flanges thatare of correct size and shape for yourselected wheel. Proper wheel flanges supportthe wheel thus reducing the possibility ofwheel breakage. Flanges for cut-off wheelsmay be different from grinding wheel flanges.Do not use worn down wheels from largerpower tools. Wheel intended for larger powertool is not suitable for the higher speed of asmaller tool and may burst.Additional Safety WarningsSpecific for Abrasive Cutting-OffOperations:Do not “jam” the cut-off wheel or applyexcessive pressure. Do not attempt to makean excessive depth of cut. Overstressing thewheel increases the loading and susceptibilityto twisting or binding of the wheel in the cutand the possibility of kickback or wheelbreakage.Do not position your body in line with andbehind the rotating wheel. When the wheel,at the point of operation, is moving away fromyour body, the possible kickback may propelthe spinning wheel and the power tool directlyat you. When wheel is binding or when interruptinga cut for any reason, switch off the powertool and hold the power tool motionless untilthe wheel comes to a complete stop. Neverattempt to remove the cut-off wheel fromthe cut while the wheel is in motionotherwise kickback may occur. Investigateand take corrective action to eliminate thecause of wheel binding.Do not restart the cutting operation in theworkpiece. Let the wheel reach full speedand carefully reenter the cut. The wheel maybind, walk up or kickback if the power tool isrestarted in the workpiece.Support panels or any oversized workpieceto minimize the risk of wheel pinching andkickback. Large workpieces tend to sag undertheir own weight. Supports must be placedunder the workpiece near the line of cut andnear the edge of the workpiece on both sidesof the wheel.Use extra caution when making a “pocketcut” into existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding wheel may cut gas or waterpipes, electrical wiring or objects that cancause kickback.Do not use type 1 abrasive wheels designedfor straight grinding.Do not attempt to cut large stock or sheetsof metal as this machine is not designed tobe a dedicated cut-off machine.Safety Warnings Specific forSanding Operations:Do not use excessively oversized sanding discpaper. Follow manufacturer’srecommendations, when selecting sandingpaper. Larger sanding paper extendingbeyond the sanding pad presents a lacerationhazard and may cause snagging, tearing of thedisc or kickback.Safety Warnings Specific for WireBrushing Operations:Be aware that wire bristles are thrown bythe brush even during ordinary operation.Do not overstress the wires by applyingexcessive load to the brush. The wire bristlescan easily penetrate light clothing and/orskin.If the use of a guard is recommended forwire brushing, do not allow any interferenceof the wire wheel or brush with the guard.Wire wheel or brush may expand in diameterdue to work load and centrifugal forces. |
