4 Operation4.1 Main switchWARNING: Read the safety instructionscarefully before you start your roboticlawnmower.WARNING: Keep your hands and feet awayfrom the rotating blades. Never put your handsor feet close to or under the body when themotor is running.WARNING: Never use the robotic lawnmowerwhen persons, especially children, or pets, arein the cutting area.• Set the main switch in the1 position to start therobotic lawnmower.• Set the main switch in the0 position when therobotic lawnmower is not in use or if any work,inspection or maintenance is being carried out.When the main switch is set in the0 position themotors on the robotic lawnmower cannot start.4.2 Start1. Press the STOP button to open the hatch.2. Set the main switch to position1.3. Enter the PIN code.4. Press the START button.5. Select the desired operating mode. SeeOperatingmode - Start on page 44.6. Close the hatch within 10 seconds.If the robotic lawnmower is parked in the chargingstation, it will only leave the charging station whenthe battery is fully charged and if the timer is set toallow the mower to operate.Note: Always press the START button before closing thehatch to start the robotic lawnmower. If the STARTbutton is not pressed, a message beep is heard and therobotic lawnmower will not start. Before the blade discstarts a warning beep can be heard consisting of 5 shortbeeps for 2 seconds.4.3 Operating mode - StartWhen the START button has been pressed the followingoperation selections can be selected.• Main area• Secondary area• Override timer• Spot cutting4.3.1 Main areaMain area is the standard operating mode where therobotic lawnmower mows and charges automatically.4.3.2 Secondary areaWhen mowing secondary areasSecondary area settingmust be used. SelectingSecondary area will cause therobotic lawnmower to mow until the battery is empty.If the robotic lawnmower charges in theSecondary areamode, it will fully charge, drive out about 50 cm / 20 in.and then stop. This indicates that it is charged and readyto start mowing.If the main working area has to be cut after charging, itis appropriate to switch the operation selection toMainarea before placing the robotic lawnmower in thecharging station.4.3.3 Override timerAny timer settings can be temporarily overridden byselectingOverride timer. It is possible to override thetimer for 24 h or 3 days.4.3.4 Spot cuttingSpot cutting means that the robotic lawnmower will workin a spiral pattern in order to cut the grass in the areawhere it was started. When this is done, the roboticlawnmower will automatically switch toMain area orSecondary area.This function is useful for quickly mowing an area wherethe grass has been mown less than in other parts of thegarden.TheSpot cutting function is activated with the STARTbutton. You can select how the robotic lawnmowershould continue to work once mowing is finished by44 - Operation 447 - 001 -
