3 Installation3.1 Introduction - InstallationRead this chapter to install the product with a boundarywire. A boundary wire is not necessary if you install theproduct with the EPOS™ Plug-in Kit, read the operator'smanual for the EPOS™ Plug-in Kit to install it with theproduct.WARNING: Read and understand thesafety chapter before you install the product.CAUTION: Use original spare parts andinstallation material.Note: Refer to www.husqvarna.com for moreinformation about installation.3.2 Main components for installationThe installation involves the following components:• A robotic lawn mower that mows the lawnautomatically.• A charging station, which has 3 functions:• To send control signals along the boundarywire.• To send control signals along the guide wireso that the product can follow the guide wireto specific remote areas in the garden andcan find its way back to the charging station.• To charge the product.• A power supply, which is connected to thecharging station and a 100-240V power outlet.• Loop wire, which is laid around the work areaand around objects and plants that the productmust not run into. The loop wire is used both asboundary wire and guide wire.3.3 To prepare for installationRead the installation chapter before you start theinstallation. Prepare the installation carefully to make theproduct operate satisfactorily.• Make a blueprint of the work area and include allobstacles. This makes it easier to examine whereto put the charging station, the boundary wire andthe guide wire.• Make a mark on the blueprint where to put thecharging station, the boundary wire and the guidewire.• Make a mark on the blueprint where the guide wireconnects to the boundary wire. Refer toTo installthe guide wire on page 18.• Fill in holes in the lawn to make it level.CAUTION: Holes with water inthe lawn can cause damage to theproduct.• For Automower® 320 NERA, make sure thatyou have Wi-Fi coverage in the charging stationto download new firmware. Refer toDownloadfirmware over the air FOTA (Firmware over the air)on page 24. For Automower® 430X/450X NERAthis is recommended, but not necessary.• For Automower® 320 NERA, make sure thatyou have Wi-Fi coverage in the work area ifyou use the Automower® Connect app remotely.Refer toAutomower® Connect app on page16. For Automower® 430X/450X NERA this isrecommended, but not necessary.Note: We recommend you to have Wi-Ficoverage in the work area. If you have Wi-Ficoverage, you can control and make settingsfor the product remotely with the Automower®Connect app. The product automatically connectsto Wi-Fi when it is in an area that has Wi-Ficoverage.• Cut the grass before you install the product. Makesure that the grass is maximum 10 cm / 3.9 in.Note: The first weeks after installation the sound levelwhen the product cuts the grass can be higher thanusual. The sound level decreases after some time.3.4 Before the installation of the wiresYou can select to attach the wires with stakes or burythem. You can use the 2 procedures for the same workarea.CAUTION: If you use a dethatcherin the work area, bury the boundary wireand the guide wire to prevent them fromdamage.3.4.1 To examine where to put the chargingstation• Keep a minimum 3 m / 10 ft. of free space in frontof the charging station.
