18OPERATION3. Disengage the mower blades by pressing theblade switch downwards.4. Move the steering / park brake controls firmlyout to the locked position.5. Move the throttle lever to the middle throttleposition. If the engine is cold, the chokecontrol should be pulled up.6. Push in and turn the ignition key to the startposition.IMPORTANT INFORMATION Do notoperate the starter for more than five secondseach time. If the engine does not start, waitapproximately ten seconds before retrying.3. Move throttle control to full throttle (rabbitsymbol).4. Engage the mower deck by pulling the bladeswitch up.5. Pull control levers inward and slowly moveboth control levers slightly forward to moveforward in a straight line.WARNING! Make sure that no one isnear mower when engaging blade switch.Make sure the work area is free from objectsthat could be thrown by the rotating blades.Running1. Release the park brake by pulling the steering/ park brake controls inwards to the neutralposition at the same time.NOTE: The mower is equipped with anoperator presence system. If the operatortries to leave the seat with the engine running,without first setting the park brake, the enginewill shut off.2. Lower the mower deck to the desired cuttingheight.7. When the engine starts, immediately releasethe ignition key back to the run position.8. Set the engine speed with the throttle. Letthe engine to operate at a moderate speed,approximately mid throttle, for a short timebefore use.9. USE FULL THROTTLE WHEN MOWING.
