XClean the air filter. Replace if it is necessary. XExamine the function of the throttle trigger lock and the throttle. XExamine the stop switch. XExamine the guards. XExamine the trimmer head. XExamine the locknut. XExamine for fuel leaks. XMake sure that the grass blade is aligned with the center, that it is sharp anddoes not have damages on the blade or the center hole. XMake sure that the cutting attachment does not rotate at idle speed. XApply grease to the two-piece shaft. XExamine the starter rope handle and the starter rope. XExamine the bevel gear grease. XClean the external surface of the spark plug. Remove the spark plug and meas-ure the electrode gap. Adjust the electrode gap or replace the spark plug. XClean the cooling system. XClean or replace the spark arrestor screen on the muffler. XClean the external surface of the carburetor and the area around it. XExamine the fuel filter for contamination. XExamine the fuel hose for damage. XExamine all cables and connections. XExamine the clutch, the clutch springs and the clutch drum for wear. XReplace the spark plug.
