Chapter 9 • Connection and parameterisation User Manual Series F-BO-AFE709.4.1.2 Synchronisation of the internal clock of the F-BO-AFE70By means of an impulse from an external timer, with a duration of approx. 1 minute, the internalclock of the F-BO-AFE70 can be set to 00:00 hours (i.e., always at midnight). For more details seefrom page 37 onwards in Chapter 9.5.2: „Internal clock“.9.4.2 Connection of Purging units in the master-slave mode with direct actuation through the firedetection control panel (in accordance with EN 54-13)If the air delivery volume required in a far-flung pipe network makes it necessary to use more thanone Purging unit in order to safely clean the pipe network, the Purging units can be operated in themaster-slave mode.The upper Purging unit in Fig. 13 below (which is called master) serves as master unit and has theconnection to the fault output of the aspirating smoke detector. This F-BO-AFE70 uses its „Slaveactiv.“ output to control the slave unit, which is actuated via the „Manual activation“ input. If addi-tional slave units are to be actuated, it is recommended that each additional slave unit should beactuated via the „Slave activ.“ output of the respective preceding slave unit.In order to prevent the slave units from carrying out autonomous Purging processes, the slave unitsmust be set to Purging program „6“ and the end-of-line resistor REOL AFE must be connected tothe fault input. The fault outputs of the master unit and of all slave units must be connected inseries, the end-of-line resistor REOL FDCP must be installed in the last slave unit.Any number of Automatic Purging Units Series F-BO-AFE70 can be operated in the master-slavemode. Since all slave units follow the Purging processes of their master unit virtually synchron-ously, you have to take into account the increased air delivery volume needed for this.Pay attention to the project planning instructions given from page 14 onwards in Chapter 4:„Pneumatic components – dimensioning“ and from page 43 onwards in Chapter 12: „Specifica-tions“.All slave units must be operated with Purging program 6. Setting device numbers on slave unitswill not affect the sequence in time.Further explanations about the general connection as well as the inputs and outputs can be found inthe above-mentioned parts of Chapter 9.4: „Connection of and interaction between Purging unit,aspirating smoke detector and fire detection control panel“.I56-4252-010D200-104-0034
