User Manual Series F-BO-AFE70 Chapter 9 • Connection and parameterisationsupply at an earlier time can result in severe damage or injuries, depending on the condi-tion of the system and the environment. In order to provide a clearer overview, the components of the EMC protection circuits of the inputsand outputs that are provided on the control board are not shown in the connection diagrams.9.2 Power supplyThe Purging unit can be powered by a separate power supply unit, or by the power supply device ofthe aspirating smoke detector. In order to avoid undefined potential situations, the inputs and outputs for the control lines betweenthe Purging unit and the evaluation unit of the aspirating smoke detector are potential-free withinthe unit.If several Purging units, each with its own independent power supply device, are operated with acommon timer for synchronising the time or with a common push-button „Manual activation“ orsomething similar, the supply voltage minus terminals of the Purging units (terminal 2) must beconnected to each other.9.3 Location of the display and operating elements and terminals on the controlboard of the Automatic Purging Unit F-BO-AFE70Fig. 11: Location of the display and operating elements and terminals on the control board AFS70-1 ofthe Automatic Purging Unit F-BO-AFE70The field with the dotted border is a label on which the version of the used firmware „PL200Vx.yy“ has been printed.9.4 Connection of and interaction between Purging unit, aspirating smoke detectorand fire detection control panelPerform the connection in accordance with Figure 12 or 13 below. The connections that are neededfor the respective function are represented by solid lines, the optional connections are representedby dashed lines. All contacts in Figures 12 and 13 are shown in the de-energised condition of the devices, whichmeans– the fault contacts of the F-BO-AFE70 and of the ASD are in the „fault“ condition.– the alarm contact of the ASD is in the „no alarm“ condition. It is recommended that the alarm output and the fault output of the aspirating smoke detectorshould be evaluated separately and connected separately to the fire detection control panel. The alarm contact of the aspirating smoke detector is connected to the fire detection control panellike a standard fire detector, by means of a monitored line (e.g., via a conventional line or a loopinput module). The fault contact of the aspirating smoke detector is also connected like a standardfire detector, by means of a monitored line (e.g., via a conventional line or a loop input module), tothe second input of the fire detection control panel.
