8. On the quasi-p eak adapter, press ON to start the quasi-p eakdetector.Note Though the p eak values of the pulsed signals remain the same,as the rep etition rate decreases the quasi-p eak amplitude alsodecreases.Measurements will b e accurate only if the signal of interest is ab ovethe rst graticule from the b ottom of the display. If the quasi-p eakamplitude is b elow the rst graticule, select X10 on the quasi-p eakadapter. This video ampli er b o osts the signal by a factor of ten,allowing accurate measurements.If you use the quasi-p eak adapter X10 ampli er, subtract 20 dBfrom the marker amplitude shown on the display. Whenever avoltage is multiplied by a factor of ten, in terms of dB there is a 20dB di erence.9. Press MAX HOLD on the sp ectrum analyzer and allow the receiverto sweep for several seconds.10.
