Also see “EventLogs” on page 115, and review the cause and actions for each event listed.Symptom Reason SolutionContinuousindications that thepartner controllerhas failed or ismissing.A partner controller in anActive-Active configuration hasfailed or was removed.Operating in a Stand-Aloneconfiguration with SingleController Mode not selected.Until the partner controller isreplaced, temporarily enable SingleController Mode in the ControllerParameters tab. Make sure thatyou disable this option when thepartner controller is replaced.If you are operating in aStand-Alone configuration, enablethe Single Controller Mode settingin the Controller Parameters tab.Password Error Password not accepted at log in.Password was forgotten or lost.The Password is case sensitive.Make sure that you enter thepassword correctly.Contact Customer Care for theprocedures to recover from a lost ormissing password.Lost communicationwith the RAIDcontrollers.Service is hung (Windows). Restart the StorView service. Accessthe Control Panel and double-clickon Services. Locate the StorViewService and click Stop. After theservice has stopped, click Startthen click RESCAN on the StorViewMain window.Service is hung (Linux). On Linux systems, access theprocess viewer and stop theStorView Process. Restart theprocess and click RESCAN on theStorView Main window.The Hot spare is notautomaticallystarting when adrive failure occursin a redundant arrayin which a global ordedicated hot spareis defined.The Auto Rebuild option is notenabled in the ControllerParameters.Hot spare disk drive is too smallto be used for the drivereplacement.Waiting for a valid replacementdrive to be inserted.Open the CONTROLLER window(click the Controller icon), click thecheck box on the Auto Rebuildparameter.Make sure that the disk drivedefined as a hot spare is equal to orgreater in size than the drivemembers of the arrays.Auto Rebuild is not selected andno hot spare drive is assigned, butAuto Hot Spare is enabled. Thearray begins rebuilding after a validreplacement drive is inserted in thedrive slot of the failed drive.
