304. Select the serial port to which the GPS 19xHVS is connected. Select Auto to have theprogram automatically determine the baudrate, or select Manual to manually selectthe baud rate of the GPS 19x HVS. ClickOK when done.5. Click the Connect icon , or selectComm > Connect to connect to the GPS19x HVS.6. To view the current programming of theGPS 19x HVS, select Config > GetConfiguration from GPS (or press the F8key). The current programming of the GPS19x HVS is displayed in the window, asshown on this page to the right.7. Open the Sensor Configuration Window bypressing the F6 key or selecting Config >Sensor Configuration.8. Place a check mark in the box next to“Binary Output Data” to change the GPS19x HVS to Garmin Mode. The unit willkeep this change in the programming untilyou change it again in the software.Note: Selecting Config > Switch toGarmin Mode (or pressing the F11 key)only changes the unit to work in GarminMode until power is cycled through theunit again. For a more permanent change,refer to step 8 above.9. Click OK.10. When you are ready to upload the changesinto the GPS 19x HVS, select Config >Send Configuration to GPS (or press theF9 key). The new configuration is thenloaded into the GPS 19x HVS.11. You may disconnect and close the softwarewhen finished. The software configurationcan also be saved for future reference.Refer to Appendix E: Sensor ConfigurationSoftware for complete information aboutdownloading the Sensor ConfigurationSoftware application.
