40Part Three: Section 3TAWS AlertsWARNING—The annunciation and pop-up terrainalert are accompanied by the aural message “PullUp”.Negative Climb Rate After Takeoff Alert (NCR)The purpose of the Negative Climb Rate AfterTakeoff alert (also referred to as “Altitude Loss AfterTakeoff”) is to provide suitable alerts to the pilotwhen the system determines that the aircraft is losingaltitude (closing upon terrain) after takeoff. Theaural message “Don’t Sink” is given for NCR alerts,accompanied by an annunciation and a pop-up terrainalert on the display.The “Don’t Sink” pop-up terrain alert accompanies the auralmessage for the NCR alert.
