6Part One: Section 2TIS Controls and DisplayTraffic Ground TrackTraffic ground track is indicated in the400W/500W display by a “target track vector”, a shortline displayed in 45-degree increments, extending inthe direction of target movement.Traffic Target Track Vector.Traffic Warning WindowWhen the unit is on any page (other than theNAV Traffic Page or when a TAWS/Terrain, or DeadReckoning pop-up is displayed) and a traffic threat isimminent, the Traffic Warning Window is displayed.The Traffic Warning Window shows a small thumb-nail map which can take the user to the Traffic Pageby pressing ENT, or go back to the previous page bypressing CLR.Traffic Warning WindowNOTE: The Traffic Warning Window is disabled whenthe aircraft ground speed is less than 30 knots or whenan approach is active.Traffic PageTIS Traffic data is displayed on two 400W/500WSeries unit pages, the Traffic Page and the Map Page.The 500W Series unit can also be configured todisplay a traffic thumbnail window below the VLOCfrequency window. Unlike other forms of traffic, TIStraffic does not require heading data to be valid on themap. The only difference between TIS and other trafficdata occurs on the Traffic Page. If heading is available,then the traffic data is compensated and displayed asheading-up. If it’s not available, the Traffic Page is atrack-up display. It is labeled on the upper portion ofthe Traffic Page.Traffic Page Display RangeVarious display ranges can be selected for optimaldisplay of TIS traffic information.To change the display range on the TrafficPage:Press RNG to zoom through the range selec-tions which are: 12/6 NM, 6/2 NM, and2 NM.
