Map ToolsMap tools provide quick access to information and devicefunctions while you view the map. When you activate a maptool, it appears in a panel at the edge of the map.Stop: Stops navigation of the active route.Edit Route: Allows you to take a detour or skip locations in yourroute (Changing Your Active Route, page 9).Mute: Mutes the master volume.Cities Ahead: Shows upcoming cities and services along youractive route or along a highway (Cities Ahead, page 11).Up Ahead: Shows upcoming locations along the route or theroad on which you are traveling (Up Ahead, page 11).Elevation: Displays elevation changes ahead.Traffic: Displays traffic conditions along your route or in yourarea (Viewing Upcoming Traffic, page 12). This feature isnot available in all areas or for all device models.Trip Data: Displays customizable trip data, such as speed ormileage (Viewing Trip Data from the Map, page 11).Turns: Displays a list of upcoming turns in your route (ViewingTurns and Directions, page 8).Phone: Displays a list of recent phone calls from yourconnected phone, and displays in-call options while a phonecall is active (Using In-Call Options, page 14).Weather: Displays weather conditions for your area.photoLive: Displays live traffic cameras from your photoLivesubscription (photoLive Traffic Cameras, page 17).Report Camera: Allows you to report a speed or red lightcamera. This tool is available only when you have speed orred light camera data on your device and you have an activeconnection to the Garmin Drive app (Live Services, Traffic,and Smartphone Features, page 12).Break Planner: Displays break reminders and suggested stops.Viewing a Map Tool1 From the map, select .2 Select a map tool.The map tool appears in a panel at the edge of the map.3 When you are done using the map tool, select .Up AheadThe Up Ahead tool provides information about upcominglocations along your route or the road on which you aretraveling. You can view upcoming points of interest by category,such as restaurants, fuel stations, or rest areas.You can customize three categories to show in the Up Aheadtool.Viewing Upcoming Locations1 From the map, select > Up Ahead.While you are traveling, the map tool shows the next locationalong your road or route in each of the three categories.While you are not traveling, the map tool shows the threecategory names.2 Select an option:• If the map tool shows categories, select a category to viewa list of nearby locations in that category.• If the map tool shows upcoming locations, select alocation to view location details or start a route to thelocation.Customizing the Up Ahead CategoriesYou can change the location categories that appear in the UpAhead tool.1 From the map, select > Up Ahead.2 Select a category.3 Select .4 Select an option:• To move a category up or down in the list, select and dragthe arrow next to the category name.• To change a category, select the category.• To create a custom category, select a category, selectCustom Search, and enter the name of a business orcategory.5 Select Save.Cities AheadWhile you are traveling on a highway or navigating a route thatincludes a highway, the Cities Ahead tool provides informationabout upcoming cities along the highway. For each city, the maptool shows the distance to the highway exit and the servicesavailable, similar to the information on highway road signs.Viewing Upcoming Cities and Exit Services1 From the map, select > Cities Ahead.While you are traveling along a highway or an active route,the map tool shows information about upcoming cities andexits.2 Select a city.The device shows a list of points of interest located at theselected city exit, such as fuel stations, lodging, orrestaurants.3 Select a location, and select Go! to start navigating.Trip InformationViewing Trip Data from the MapBefore you can view trip data on the map, you must add the toolto the map tools menu.From the map, select > Trip Data.Viewing Customized Trip Information on the MapYou can use the trip data map tool to show customized tripinformation on the map.1 From the map, select > Trip Data.2 Select an option:• Select a data field in the trip data tool , and select theinformation to show in the field.• Select the customizable map data field , and select theinformation to show in the field.Viewing the Trip Information PageThe trip information page displays your speed and providesstatistics about your trip.From the map, select Speed.Using the Map 11
