21Consumer SupportOperating InstructionsSafety Instructions InstallationInstructions Troubleshooting TipsHow to Set the Upper Oven for Convection Roasting when Using the Probe(on some models)The display will flash PROBE and the ovencontrol will signal if the probe is inserted intothe outlet, and you have not set a probetemperature and touched the Start pad.Place the rack in the rack position (A).Insert the probe completely into the food.Plug the probe into the outlet in theoven. Make sure it is pushed all the wayin. Close the oven door.Touch the Convection Roast pad.Touch the number pads to set thedesired oven temperature.Touch the Probe pad.Touch the number pads to set thedesired internal food temperature.To change the oven temperature duringthe Convection Roast cycle, touch theConvection Roast pad and then touchthe number pads to set the new desiredtemperature.Touch the Start pad.When the oven starts to heat, the wordLO will be in the display.After the internal temperature of the foodreaches 100°F, the changing internaltemperature will be shown in the display.When the internal temperature of thefood reaches the number you have set,the probe and the oven turn off and theoven control signals. To stop the signal,touch the Clear/Off pad. Use hot padsto remove the probe from the food. Donot use tongs to pull on it—they mightdamage it.CAUTION: To prevent possibleburns, do not unplug the probe from the ovenoutlet until the oven has cooled. Do not storethe probe in the oven.NOTE:■ If the probe is removed from the foodbefore the final temperature is reached, atone will sound and the display will flashuntil the probe is removed from the oven.■ You will hear a fan while cooking with thisfeature. The fan will stop when the door isopened but the heat will not turn off.■ You can use the timer even though youcannot use timed oven operations whileusing the probe.For best results when roasting largeturkeys and roasts, we recommendusing the probe included in theconvection oven.ge.comIf your model has a door latch, do not lock the oven door with the latch during convection cooking. The latch is usedfor self-cleaning only.
