23GEAppliances.caHow to Clean the OutsideWe recommend against the use of spraycleaners and using cleaners with ammonia oralcohol, as they can damage the appearanceof the microwave oven. If you choose to use adirectly to a clean cloth, then wipe the soiled area.CaseClean the outside of the microwave with a sudsycloth. Rinse and then dry. Wipe the window cleanwith a damp cloth.Control PanelWipe with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Do notuse cleaning sprays, large amounts of soap andwater, abrasives or sharp objects on the panel―they can damage it. Some paper towels can alsoscratch the control panel.Door PanelBefore cleaning the front door panel, make sureyou know what type of panel you have. Referto the eighth digit of the model number. “S” isstainless steel “B”, “W” or “C” are plastic colors.Stainless Steel (on some models)The stainless steel panel can be cleaned withStainless Steel Magic or a similar product using aclean, soft cloth. Apply stainless cleaner carefullyto avoid the surrounding plastic parts. Do notuse appliance wax, polish, bleach or productsPlastic Color PanelsUse a clean, soft, lightly dampened cloth, thendry thoroughly.Door SealIt’s important to keep the area clean where thedoor seals against the microwave. Use only mild,non-abrasive detergents applied with a cleansponge or soft cloth. Rinse well.Bottomoften. Use a solution of warm water anddetergent.Removing and Cleaning the FiltersTo remove, slide them to the rear using the tabs.Pull down and out.swish around in hot water and detergent. Don’tuse ammonia or ammonia products becausethey will darken the metal. Light brushing can beused to remove embedded dirt.Rinse, shake and let dry before replacing.To replace,on the back of each opening.
