Broiling isperformed with the door closed.PURE CONVECTION™ (ERD modelsonly) – In Pure Convection™ mode athird heating element, encircling theconvection fan located in the rear of theoven chamber, acts as the heat source.The convection fan draws air from theoven chamber, then forces it acrossthe hot convection heating element.The heated air is directed back into theoven chamber through the convectionbaffle. The baffle distributes the heatedair evenly to ensure uniform results.Temperatures may be set from 135˚to 555˚F in 5˚F increments. Use thismode for single rack baking, multiplerack baking, roasting, and preparation ofcomplete meals.CONVECTION BAKE – In thiscombination convection-radiant mode,the lower element provides the heat.As in Pure Convection™ mode, theconvection fan and baffle combine tocirculate heated air evenly throughout theoven chamber. Temperatures may be setfrom 135˚F to 555˚F in 5˚F increments.Use this mode for single rack baking,multiple rack baking and roasting.SELF-CLEAN – In the pyrolytic Self-Clean mode, the oven reaches extremehigh temperatures, thereby burning offoven soil automatically. Position oven rack(s) at the properheight(s).2. Press the touch pad for the modes ofyour choice. The oven will beep once,the selected cooking mode will flash, and“– – –” will be displayed.3. Press either the “+” or “–” pad. The defaulttemperature will be displayed.4. To adjust the default temperature forbaking, press and hold the “TIME•TEMP”pad. (Press “+” key to increase thetemperature setting, “–” to decrease.)“PRE” and “ON” will appear in theclock display, and the oven will beginto heat. If in a convection mode, theconvection fan will turn on. Also, theclock display will change from the desiredcooking temperature to the actual oventemperature, starting with 135˚F. Thetemperature display will increase in 5˚Fincrements until the desired temperature isreached. The cooling fan will turn on whenthe oven temperature reaches 200˚F.NOTE:Do not place food inside the oven until thePreheat cycle is complete.When the desired temperature is attained, thePreheat cycle is complete. The clock will beeponce and “PRE” and “ON” will disappear fromthe display. (From this time forward, the “ON”display will cycle on and off with the heatingelements.)5. Simply by choosing a cookingmode and setting a temperature, the oven willautomatically perform the Preheat function. ThePreheat cycle operates in Standard Bake, PureConvection™ and Convection Bake modes.There is no Preheat cycle for the Broil orConvection Broil modes.NOTE:Allowing the oven to completely pre-heatprior to placing food in the oven will avoidexcessive browning of the food. After theoven signals that the pre-heat is complete,allow 3-5 more minutes for the heat patternsto normalize in the oven and then place yourfood inside.Minute TimesThe clock features two timers that may be usedfor time cooking or other processes up to 11hours, 50 minutes in length.To use the Minute Timer function, followthese steps:1. Press the touch pad labeled “TIMER 1”, or“TIMER 2”. The clock will display “00:00”,and “TIMER 1”, or“TIMER 2” will flash.2. Press the “+” pad until the desired time isdisplayed on the clock.3. After “TIMER 1” has expired, the clockwill sound off with one second beeps and“TIMER 1” will appear in the display. Afterthe “TIMER 2” minute timer has expired,the clock will sound alternating one andtwo second beeps and “TIMER 2” willappear in the display. The beeper can besilenced by pressing the “TIMER” touchpad while the beeper is sounding.
