11113. Wipe up excess grease and other foodspills with a damp cloth. This will minimizesmoke and increase the efficiency of theSelf-Clean cycle.4. Turn on kitchen fans or vents to helpremove odors during the Self-Clean cycle.Follow these steps to Self-Clean the oven:1. Complete all steps listed above forpreparing the oven for Self-Cleaning.2. Close the oven door completely.3. Press the “SELF-CLEAN” touch pad. Theoven will beep once, “CLEAN” will flash,and “– –:– –” will be displayed.4. Press the “TIME•TEMP” “+” pad andthe default time of “2:00” hours will bedisplayed.5. Increase the self-clean time up to 4 hours(depending upon the amount of oven soil)by holding the “TIME•TEMP” “+” pad.6. To delay the self-clean start to a moreconvenient time, press the “STOP TIME”touch pad. Then, press the “TIME•TEMP”“+” pad to set the time of day for thecycle to be complete. “DELAY TIMED” willappear in the clock display. The cycle canbe delayed up to 11 hours and 50 minutes.7. Approximately 30 to 60 seconds afterselecting Self-Clean, the automatic doorlatch will lock the door. “LOCK” and “ON”will appear in the clock display. The ovenwill begin heating. The “ON” indicator willcycle on and off with the burner.NOTE:If Delay Timed mode has been set, the“ON” display and the oven heat will notturn on until the programmed time has beenreached.IMPORTANT:If the door is not closed completely, theautomatic door latch will not be able tolock the door when the Self-Clean modeis selected. In this case, “door” will flashin the clock display. If this occurs, pressthe “CANCEL•SECURE” pad and waitapproximately 1 minute. Repeat the Self-Clean steps from the beginning, beingcertain to close the door completely. Donot try to force the door open after it islocked, as the automatic latch can bedamaged. If you need to unlock the door,turn off the Self-Clean cycle by pressing the“CANCEL•SECURE” pad. After approximately1 minute, “LOCK” will disappear from theclock display, and the door will unlock.The door will remain locked until the oventemperature falls below 390˚F. Do not selectany cooking function until the oven door isunlocked.8. About 50 to 60 minutes will be requiredfor the oven to reach the Self-Cleantemperature.9. The Self-Clean cycle can be stopped atany time by pressing “CANCEL•SECURE.” Adjusting the Oven Temperature10. After completion of the Self-Clean cycle,the oven will stop heating and the “ON”and “CLEAN” indicators will disappearfrom the clock display. Press the“CANCEL•SECURE” pad.11. After the interior oven temperature fallsbelow 390˚F, the door latch will releaseand “LOCK” will disappear from the clockdisplay. The door can now be opened.12. Open the door. After ensuring that theoven has cooled sufficiently to be safe, usea damp cloth or sponge to wipe out thepowder residue found in the bottom of theoven. If white spots remain in the oven,remove them with a non-scratch scouringpad before using the oven again. Thesespots are normally salt that cannot beremoved by a Self-Clean cycle.13. Re-install the oven racks and convectionfan filter before cooking in the oven.IMPORTANT:With the oven at room temperature, if the Self-Clean mode is accidentally selected and theoven enters Self-Clean mode (indicated by“LOCK” and “ON” in the clock display), theuser must cancel out of this mode beforeattempting to select a different mode. Tocancel, press the “CANCEL•SECURE” pad.Wait at least 60 seconds before attemptingto select another mode. This allows thedoor latch time to unlock. The user mayfind the temperature in their new oven tobe different from that of their previously-owned appliance. Familiarity with the oldappliance sometimes makes it difficult to getused to a new oven. If you feel that the oventemperature is consistently high or low, thetemperature of the new oven can be adjusted.The adjustment needs to be done only once.(Refer to Adjusting the Oven Temperature)TIMER 1 CLOCK STOP TIME TIMER 2CLEAN LOCK ON CLEAN TIMEClock Display in Self-Cleaning ModeSELF-CLEANING TIPS1. If any soil remains in the oven aftercompletion of a Self-Clean cycle, repeatthe cycle if desired. Increase the cleaningtime during future cycles.2. Clean the oven regularly to preventexcessive soil build-up. This will increasethe efficiency of the Self-Clean cycle andreduce the amount of smoke and odorsgenerated.3. Self-Clean in the cooler evening hours aftercooking is complete and when electricityrates are lower.4. In the 48 inch model Ranges, if one oven isin the Self-Clean mode the second oven isinoperable.The oven temperature may be adjusted(calibrated) by following these steps:1. Press “BAKE” selector pad.2. Press the “TIME•TEMP” “+” pad to set atemperature of 500˚F or higher.3. Press and hold the “BAKE” selectorpad. After approximately 5 seconds thetemperature display is replaced by “00”.The “BAKE” pad can now be released. Thecalibration mode has been accessed.4. Press the “TIME•TEMP” “+“ or “–” pad toset the amount of temperature adjustment.The temperature can be changed amaximum of 35˚F higher or lower. Setthe adjustment to positive (+) numbersto increase the oven temperature; setthe adjustment to negative (–) numbersto reduce the oven temperature.Temperatures can be adjusted inincrements of 5˚F.5. After setting the desired temperatureadjustment, press the “CANCEL•SECURE”pad to exit the calibration mode and toreset the clock display.TIMER 1 CLOCK STOP TIME TIMER 2Clock Display When Adjusting (Calibrating)the Oven TemperatureReplacing the Oven LightsYour new range has halogen oven lights toenhance the view into the oven. The lightassembly consists of a removable lens coverand 10-watt 120VAC halogen bulb, as well asa light fixture housing. Light bulb replacementis considered to be a homeowner maintenanceoperation.WARNINGS:To prevent electrical shock and/or personalinjury:1. Make certain that the oven and lightbulb are cool and that power to the ovenhas been turned off before replacing thelight bulb.2. Always ensure that the lens cover is inplace when using the oven. The lenscover protects the bulb from breakagecaused by high oven temperatures ormechanical shock.NOTES:1. If “CANCEL•SECURE” is not pressedafter setting the adjustment, the clockdisplay will automatically reset in 6seconds.2. The amount of temperature adjustmentmay be changed again by repeatingthe calibration procedure. The ovenwill only retain the amount of the mostrecent temperature adjustment.3. The temperature adjustment is notaffected by an electrical power failure.4. The temperature adjustment only affectsBake and Convection modes. Broiland Self-Clean temperatures cannot beadjusted. |
