Toprevent accidental starting, alwaysremove the battery before installingor removing the saw chain. Failure todo so could result in serious personalinjury.CAUTION: Sharp moving blade.Always wear gloves when installingor removing the saw chain. The sawchain is sharp and can cut you evenwhen it is not moving.Put the saw head on a flat stablesurface. Remove the two sockethead screws using the providedwrench (stored in the side of thesaw head housing) by turning themcounterclockwise. (see figure 1)Figure 1Remove the sprocket cover, bar clampand socket head screws.Remove the chain by turning thesocket head screw in the front of thesaw head counterclockwise, this willloosen the chain. (see figure 2) Lift thechain away from the sprocket and outof the groove in the guide bar.Figure 2To replace the chain, make sure thatthe slot in the guide bar is over the 2locating pins and that the adjustmentpin is in the hole below the slot. (seefigure 3)Figure 3Place the chain in the groove of theguide bar and over the sprocket. Besure that the teeth on the saw chainare facing the correct direction. Thearrows on the chain on the top sideof the bar should point forward. (seefigure 4)
