Failureto observethe followingsafetyinstructionscouldresultin seriousinjuryor death.Your Responsibility--Restrict the useof this powermachinetopersonswho read,understandand follow thewarningsand instruc-tions in this manualand on the machine.SAVETHESEINSTRUCTIONS!TRAINING• Read,understand,and followall instructionson the machineandin themanual(s)beforeattemptingto assembleand operate.Keepthis manualin a safe placefor futureand regularreferenceand for orderingreplacementparts.• Readthe Operator'sManualand followall warningsand safetyinstructions.Failureto do so can resultin seriousinjuryto theoperatorand/orbystanders.• Be familiarwith all controlsand their properoperation.Knowhowto stop the machineand disengagethemquickly.• Neverallowchildrenunder 16 yearsof age to operatethismachine.Children16 and overshouldreadand understandtheinstructionsand safe operationpracticesin this manualand onthe machineand be trainedand supervisedby an adult.• Neverallowadultsto operatethis machinewithoutproperinstruction.• Keepbystanders,pets,and childrenat least 75 feetfrom themachinewhile it is in operation.Stopmachineif anyoneentersthe area.• Neverrun an engine indoorsor in a poorlyventilatedarea.Engineexhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide,an odorlessand deadlygas.• Do not puthandsand feet near rotatingpartsor in the feedingchambersand dischargeopening.Contactwith the rotatingimpellercan amputatefingers,hands,and feet.• Neverattemptto unclogeitherthe feed intakeor dischargeopening,removeor emptybag,or inspectand repairthe machinewhilethe engineis running.Shutthe engineoff and wait untilallmovingparts havecome to a completestop.Disconnectthe sparkplug wireand groundit againstthe engine.PREPARATION• Thoroughlyinspectthearea wherethe equipmentis to be used.Removeall rocks,bottles,cans,or otherforeignobjectswhichcould be pickedup or thrownand cause personalinjuryordamageto the machine.• Alwayswear safetyglassesor safetygogglesduring operationand while performingan adjustmentor repair,to protectyoureyes.Thrownobjectswhich ricochetcan cause seriousinjurytothe eyes.• Wearsturdy,rough-soledwork shoesand close-fittingslacksandshirts.Loosefittingclothesor jewelrycan be caughtin movableparts.Neveroperatethis machinein bare feet or sandals.Wearleatherworkgloveswhenfeedingmaterialin the chipperchute.• Beforestarting,checkall bolts and screwsfor propertightnesstobe surethe machineis in safe workingcondition.Also,visuallyinspectmachinefor any damageat frequentintervals.• Maintainor replacesafetyand instructionslabels,as necessary.3 |
