ROUTING USING THEMITER GAUGEYour miter gauge will serve as a handyaid when extra support is needed forcross-grain routing small workpieces,See Figure 24.NOTE: For ALL routing operations requitinguse of the miter gauge along with the fenceassembly, be sure to align fence assemblywith the miter bar slot before makingany cuts.Miters can be cut by loosening theprotractor head knob, turning the pro_'actorhead up to 60° in either direction andtightening the protractor head knob.I ,WARNING I• Always hold the workpiece FIRMLY andSECURELY against the miter gauge,the router table and, if using non-piloted router bits, the fence assemblywhen making this cut.• Make sure that NEITHER YOURFINGERS, HANDS, NOR ANY OTHERPART OF YOUR BODY is in line withthe router bit when using the mitergauge.
