Cisco 6900 Series IP PhoneQuick Reference User GuideNOTE: Because of differences in phone models andfeatures, not all procedures and soft keys describedhere necessarily apply to all phones.Using this Quick Reference Guide Complete numbered lists in sequence. Choose one bulleted option per list. Bold terms identify soft or hard keys.PLACING A CALL Dial a number and then lift the handset. Lift the handset and then dial a number. Use a Speed Dial or Directory.Internal Calls Dial 10-digits (646-774-XXXX)External Calls Dial 10-digits for Local & National calls Prefix 011 for International callsEmergency Calls Dial 911 for public emergency services Dial 5555# for on-site SecurityANSWERING & ENDING A CALL1. Lift the handset, press the Answer softkey,or press speaker to answer a call.2. Press the Details softkey to see additionalCaller ID information.3. Hang-up the handset or press the EndCallsoftkey to end a call.REDIAL A NUMBER Lift the handset and press Redial. P r e s s on the blue Toggle Selector toquickly view a history of your placed calls.Then highlight the desired number and liftthe handset or press Dial. P r e s s to view your Speed Dials.HOLD A CALL1. To place a call on hold, press Hold.2. The call will remain on Hold and beep every60 seconds as a reminder.3. To retrieve the call, scroll to highlight thecall and then press the Resume softkey.TRANSFER A CALL1. While on a call, press the Transferbutton. The caller will automatically beplaced on-hold and a new call started.2. Dial the number you wish to transfer to.13. Wait for an answer to announce the caller.4. Press Transfer again to connect the callers.5. To cancel a transfer in-progress, pressCancel and then Resume the original call.TO TRANSFER DIRECTLY TO VOICEMAIL1. Prefix a * before the extension during thetransfer process (*6467741234)AD-HOC CONFERENCE CALLS1. While on a call, press the Confrnbutton. The caller will automatically beplaced on hold and a new call started.2. Dial the number you wish to conference in.3. Wait for an answer and inform the callerthat you will add them to a conference.4. Press Confrn a second time to connect allcallers.CALL PARK1. While on an active call, press the Park softkey.2. The system will then provide you with avirtual Parking Spot number on the display(Call Parked at #01). The caller will no longerbe connected to your phone.3. Contact the party that you wish to take the calland tell them the Parking Spot number, ormove to another phone to retrieve it yourself.4. To retrieve the parked call, dial the ParkingSpot number (#01) from any phone.5. The call will be parked for 3 minutes, afterwhich it will ring back to the original phone.CALL FORWARD1. To forward ALL calls for your primary line to adifferent number press the Fwd All softkey.2. Enter the desired destination exactly as itwould be dialed from your phone. Press theMessages button to forward all calls to yourvoicemail.3. Your phone will show an indication that callsare being forwarded. No calls will alert or ringon your phone during the forwarding period.4. To cancel the forwarding, press Fwd OFF.IGNORE AN INCOMING CALL To send a caller directly to voicemail whileringing, press the Divert softkey. Use the DND softkey to mute the ringer.HANDLING MULTIPLE CALLS1. When on a call and a second call comes in, thenew ringing call will display Caller-IDinformation on the screen and the line key willbe blinking orange.2. Press the blinking line button once toautomatically place the active call on hold andanswer the new one.3. To toggle between calls, press the lighted linebutton. This will automatically place the activecall on hold, and resume the held call.CALL HISTORYView Call History1. Press the Settings button.2. Scroll to select the desired call list.Place a Call From Call History1. Navigate to the desired call list.2. Scroll to highlight the desired number.3. Lift the Handset or press Dial.Clear Call History1. Press Directories.2. Press Clear. This clears all histories.DIRECTORY DIALING1. Press the Directories button.2. Select the Corporate Directory.3. Using the keypad, type in several letters ofeither a first or last name.4. Press Search.5. Scroll to highlight the desired name.6. Lift the Handset or press Dial.DIAL BY NAME1. Dial 646-774-5050 to use Dial-By-Name2. Speak the persons name clearly and thenconfirm to complete the call.VOICEMAILInitial Setup1. Press the Messages button.2. Enter the default PIN 159357#3. Follow the prompts to record your name,greeting and a personal PIN.4. You may write your PIN here for reference____________________________________Retrieve a New Message1. Press the Messages button.2. Enter your personal PIN followed by #3. Press 1 to listen to new messages.4. Follow the menu prompts for other options.External Voicemail Access1. Dial 646-774-66662. Enter your phone extension3. Enter your voicemail PIN Alternatively, dial your own number and press *during the voicemail greeting to login. |
