6-2Switching Temporarily to Tone DialingMany information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc., require tone dialing for theirservices. If your machine is connected to a rotary pulse line, follow this procedure to set the machine temporarilyfor tone dialing:1 Press FAX to set to the Fax Mode.Ex:2 Pick up the handset of your telephone.3 Enter a destination using the numeric keyson your telephone, a one-touch speeddialing key, coded speed dialing code,Redial/Pause or the numeric keys on themachine.4 When the recorded message of theinformation service answers, press T(Tone) to switch to tone dialing.Ex:• When T (Tone) is pressed, T is displayed on theLCD display.• If your telephone line uses tone dialing, proceed tothe next step.5 Use the numeric keys on the machine toenter the numbers requested by theinformation service.Ex:• Numbers entered after pressing T (Tone) will bedialed using tone dialing.• After pressing T (Tone), you cannot use thenumeric keys on your telephone.
