(See "TypefaceSamples," on p. 5-8, and "Symbol Sets Supported," on p. 5-13.)First page prints correctly in the font and format specified in the software application, butmidway through the job the font and format changes.Cause The printer has initiated a job timeout. When a job timeout occurs, thedownloaded fonts and formatting commands specified in the softwareapplication are lost, so printing after the job timeout is completed without thedownloaded font and format.Remedy If the print job came via the parallel port or USB port, increase the I/OTIMEOUT setting or disable it on the PARALLEL MENU or USB MENU. (See "I/O TIMEOUT," on p.3-29, p. 3-31, or p. 3-34.)One edge of the document is cut off.Cause You are attempting to print something outside the printable area of the page.Remedy Use your software application to adjust the margins of the page. Check andensure that your software application is not trying to print graphics or textoutside the printable area. (See the PCL Driver Guide.)High jam rates, misfeeds, or multiple sheet feed errors.Cause You may be using unsuitable paper.Remedy Always use paper that is suitable for this printer.Printing garbled text.Cause 1 The printer selection you made when you set up or installed your softwareapplication was incorrect.Remedy Make sure the correct printer is selected. (See the PCL Driver Guide.)Cause 2 If different portions of the text are garbled every time you print, the interfacecable may be too long, and spurious noise is corrupting the data.Remedy The maximum length for the parallel cable is 10 ft (3 m). If your cable is longerthan this, replace it with a shorter cable.
