Chapter 44-44.3 Adjustment4.3.1 Basic Adjustment4.3.1.1 Upward CurlMode 0009-2563a. OutlinePaper tends to curl upward in certainconditions, preventing normal delivery/stacking. (See the following figure.)F-4-1If such is the case,1) Turn over the stack of paper inside thepaper source (e.g., cassette). If doing somakes the upward curling worse thanbefore, turn back over the stack. If thepaper still develops upward curl and, thus, fails to deposit itself normally, try enablingthe upward curl mode item.b. Enabling the Upward Curl Mode1) Turn off the host machine.2) Set the bits of SW104 on the finishercontroller PCB as follows:F-4-23) Turn on the host machine.- When this mode item is enabled, themachine changes the speed of its stackdelivery roller to ensure proper stacking.- When this mode item has been enabled, changes in conditions (e.g., the use ofpaper with little curl or paper withdownward curl) can cause improperstacking. In this regard, it is very importantto study the type of paper that is most oftenused by the user before enabling this modeitem.4.3.1.2 Special CurlMode 0009-2564a. OutlineIf paper with irregular curl is deposited*,its edges can block the delivery slot of thefinisher, pushing forward the exiting stackwhen the next sheet arrives.
