Important Safety InstructionsTo ensure the safe operation of this scanner, be sure to read the safety warnings and precautions described below.❏ Installation LocationThe performance of this scanner is affected by theenvironment in which it is installed. Make sure that thelocation where the scanner is installed meets the followingenvironmental requirements.● Provide adequate space around the scanner foroperation, maintenance, and ventilation.● Avoid installing the machine in direct sunlight. Ifthis is unavoidable, use curtains to shade thescanner.● Avoid locations where a considerable amount ofdust accumulates.● Avoid warm or humid locations, such as in thevicinity of a water faucet, water heater, orhumidifier, and avoid locations where the fumesfrom ammonia, paint thinner, or other volatilechemicals may be present.● Avoid locations that are subject to vibration.● Avoid exposing the scanner to rapid changes intemperature. If the room in which the scanner isinstalled is cold but rapidly heated, water droplets(condensation) may form inside the scanner. Thismay result in a noticeable degradation in scanningquality. The following conditions are recommended foroptimal scanning quality:Room temperature: 10 °C to 32.5 °C (50 °F to90.5 °F)Humidity: 20% to 80% RH● Avoid installing the scanner near equipment thatgenerates a magnetic field (e.g. speakers, televisions, or radios).❏ Power● Connect only to a power outlet of the rated voltageand power supply frequency (either 120 V, 60 Hzor 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz, depending on yourregion).● Do not connect other electrical equipment to thesame power outlet to which the scanner isconnected. Also, when using an extension cord, make sure that the extension cord is rated for thecurrent requirements of the scanner.● Never try to disassemble the AC adapter or modifyit in any way, as this is extremely dangerous.● The power cord and AC adapter may becomedamaged if they are often stepped on or if heavyobjects are placed on them. Continued use of adamaged power cord and AC adapter can lead toan accident, such as a fire or electrical shock.● Do not use the power cord while it is coiled. At least15.75"(40 cm) At least23.62" (60 cm)
