Check the error code displayed on the LED and take theappropriate action to correct the error.* Depending on the error occured, the Alarm lamp is not lit.Error Code Cause ActionE, 2 The machine is out ofpaper. / Paper does notfeed.Reload the paper on the Rear Tray correctly andpress the Black or Color button.E, 3 Paper jam. If paper has jammed in the machine, clear thejam, reload the paper in the machine correctlyand then press the Black or Color button.Paper JamsE, 4E, 5The FINE Cartridge cannotbe recognized.The FINE Cartridge may not be installedproperly, or the Cartridge may not be compatiblewith this machine.Open the Scanning Unit (Cover) and install theappropriate FINE Cartridge.If the error is not resolved, the FINE Cartridgemay be damaged. Contact your Canon servicerepresentative.E, 7 FINE Cartridge is notinstalled in the correctposition.Make sure that each FINE Cartridge is installedin the correct position.Routine MaintenanceE, 8 Ink absorber is almost full. The ink absorber is becoming full.The machine has a built-in ink absorber to holdthe ink used during Print Head Cleaning.Press the Black or Color button to cancel theerror so you can continue printing. Before the inkabsorber becomes completely full, contact aCanon service representative. (You will need toreplace a particular part of the machine.)E, 9(MP240 series)The machine has notreceived a response fromthe digital camera. Thedigital camera or digitalvideo camcorder connectedis not compatible with thismachine.A communication time out occurs if anoperation takes too long or if it takes toomuch time to send data. In such cases, disconnect andreconnect the USB cable.When printing from a PictBridge compliantdevice, depending on the model or brand ofyour device, you may have to select aPictBridge compliant print mode on thedevice before connecting it to the machine.You may also have to turn on your device orselect Play mode manually after connectingthe device to the machine.
