UT20 and UT30 Universal Towers157.1.4 Tower Assembly1. After installing the base and bottom tower section (Section 7.1.3, GuyAnchor Installation (p. 13)), remove the bolt from the rear tower leg, andloosen the bolt in the side legs so the bottom tower section is free to hinge.Tilt the tower section to the ground and assemble the remaining sectionsand mast by using the hardware provided with the tower.2. Install the guy wires to the top of the tower (FIGURE 7-11). Cut the 120 ftpiece of guy wire into three pieces; lengths will vary with slope. Attach theguy wires to the tower by using two U-bolts for each guy wire.FIGURE 7-11. Guy wire attached to tower3. The mounting brackets, sensors, and lightning rod (FIGURE 7-12) thatattach to the upper tower sections are most easily attached while the toweris lying on the ground.
