Loosen hex nut on work clamp.2. Insert cord through clamp handle andslide bare wire under the clamp block.Tighten hex nut making sure barewire is clamped securely (Figure 4).Wire InstallationWelding powermay be applied tothe output terminals, feed roll, workclamp, gun cable connection andwelding wire even when the the gunswitch is not activated. Do not touchthese parts when the welding machineis on.NOTE: Before installing welding wire,be sure that the diameter of thewelding wire matches the groove in thedrive roller on the wire feedmechanism and the wire matches thecontact tip in the end of the gun. Amismatch on any item could cause thewire to slip or bind.1. Verify the unit is off and open thepanel on the welder to expose thewire feed mechanism.2. Remove the spool quick lock, bypushing in and rotating 1/4 turncounterclockwise. The knob, spring, and spool spacer can now be removed.NOTE: Spool spacer and spindle spaceract as an 8” spool spindle adapter.Purchase of an adapter is not necessary.* See Figure 5 for assembly.4Wire Feed Arc Welder3. Loosen the wire feed tensioningscrew on the drive mechanism. Thisallows initial feeding of the wire intothe gun liner by hand.4. Install the wire spool onto thespindle so that the wire can come offthe spool on the end closest to thewire feed guide tube. Do not cutthe wire loose yet. Install the spoolspacer, spring, and quick lock knobby pushing in and turning the knob1/4 rotation clockwise.5. Hold the wire and cut the wire endfrom the spool. Do not allow the wireto unravel. Be sure that the end of thewire is straight and free of burrs.6. Feed the wire through the wire feedguide tube, over the groove in thedrive roll and into the gun liner.Tighten the wire feed tensioning screwso that it is snug. Do not over tighten.7. Remove the nozzle by turningcounterclockwise. Then unscrewthe contact tip from the end of thewelding torch (See Figure 6). Plug thewelder into the proper power supplyreceptacle.HINT: Keep torch cable straight whenfeeding wire.8. Turn on the welder and set the wirespeed rate to 5.
