AInstallation / Assemblywww.calflamebbq.com7Natural GasConnectionSlide the grill forward to gain access to the1.regulator and gas connection point in the rear.Remove the rear panel from the barbecue to2.gain access to the regulator and gas connectionpoint.Connect a suitable flex connector to the grill3.regulator.Check the grill controls to ensure all control valves4.are in the full OFF position.Turn on the main gas supply and check all5.connections for leaks using soapy water asdescribed in the leak testing procedure section.Warning: If you see bubbles in the soapy solution atany of the connections, turn off the gas supply andtighten the connection. If tightening the connectiondoes not seal the leak, it may be necessary to replacethe flex hose.RequirementsAlways check the rating plate to make sure the gassupply you are hooking up to is the gas type the grillis manufactured for.IMPORTANT: Never connect the grill to an unregulatedgas supply.The installation of this appliance must conformwith local codes or, in the absence of local codes,to the national fuel gas code, ANSI Z223.1a-1998.Installation in Canada must be in accordance withthe standard CAN/CGA-B149.2, Propane InstallationCode.A licensed contractor or local gas companyrepresentative must perform all natural gasconnections.Ensure that the service supplying the grill is fittedwith a shut off valve conveniently positioned near thegrill and giving ease of access.The grill must be isolated from the gas supply pipingsystem by closing its individual manual shutoff valveduring any pressure testing of the gas supply pipingsystem at test pressures equal to or less than 0.5 psi(3.5 kPa).The grill and its individual shutoff valve must bedisconnected from the gas supply piping systemduring any pressure testing of that system at testpressure in excess of 0.5 psi (3.5 kPa).Your Cal Flame™ grill for use with natural gas comesequipped with its own regulator that MUST NOTbe removed. If, this regulator needs to be replaceduse only the type specified by Cal Flame™ for thisappliance.
