TheTemporary Tap Shift Mode can alsobe deactivated by holding the rightupshift control briefly.While using Tap Shift, the vehiclewill have firmer, quicker shifting.This can be used for sport driving orwhen climbing or descending hills,to stay in gear longer, or todownshift for more power or enginebraking.The transmission will only allowshifting into gears appropriate forthe vehicle speed and enginerevolutions per minute (rpm). Thetransmission will not automaticallyshift to the next lower gear if theengine rpm is too high, nor to thenext higher gear when the maximumengine rpm is reached.If shifting is prevented for anyreason, a SHIFT DENIED messagewill be displayed in the instrumentcluster.
