Refer to the unit’s model number to seewhich configuration the unit was supplied with.12.2 Controls OptionsUnit may be controlled in one of the following ways:• Factory-mounted ALC controls (by factory)• Factory-mounted DDC controls (by others)• Factory-mounted terminal strip for field-mounted• Factory-mounted terminal strip for electromechanicalcontrols (by factory or by others)Unit Nomenclature Control Options:A = ALC, Standard Program, DOASB = ALC, Standard Program, RecirculatingC = ALC, Standard Program, DOAS with LOND = ALC, Standard Program, Recirculating with LONE = Controls by Others, Factory MountedF = Terminal Strip, Controls Provided and Mounted by OthersG = Remote ThermostatH = Compressor Lockout Thermostat12.2.1 Factory-Mounted ALC Controls(by factory)The ALC control option consists of a factory programmedcontroller and a series of factory-wired sensors. Thecontroller can operate in a 100% stand alone mode withthe use of a hand-held display. It can also connect toa building automation system (BMS) using one of fourcompatible protocols (BACnet®, LonWorks with theoptional Echelon card, Modbus, N2). The point mappingto these protocols can be pre-set, so that the protocol andbaud rates desired can be easily field-selected without theneed for additional downloads or technician assistance.Depending on the options ordered, remote sensors maybe installed and wired to the controller.12.2.2 Factory-Mounted DDC Controls(by others)Field-supplied DDC controls are mounted by the factoryper the customer’s specifications.12.2.3 Factory-Mounted Terminal Strip forField-Mounted DDC Controls (by others)Field-supplied DDC controls can be connected to thefactory-mounted and factory-wired terminal strip.12.2.4 Factory-Mounted Terminal Strip forRemote Thermostat(by factory or by others)A factory-supplied or field-supplied thermostat can beconnected to the factory-mounted and factory wiredterminal. The 24V factory-supplied thermostat has thefollowing capabilities:• Up to 4 heat/2 cool with humidity control -for heat pump• Up to 3 heat/2 cool with humidity control -for straight coolThe thermostat features a 45-90 °F [7-32 °C] temperaturecontrol range with a +/- 1 °F [0.5 °C] accuracy and arecapable of connecting to optional factory-supplied remoteindoor air and outdoor air temperature sensors.Figure 16: Equipment Touch DisplayRC/FC Series Installation, Operation, and Maintenance Manual
