There may be multiple entries ifyou have multiple Adaptec RAID controllers installed.There may also be an entry called PCI Memory Controller.15 Select PCI Card and then select Update Driver from theDriver tab.Note: If you are not prompted for a PCI card or memorycontroller driver, or if the Device Manager shows PCICard with a yellow exclamation mark in the OtherDevices list, you might need a patch for yourmotherboard chipset to recognize multifunction bridgecontrollers. Contact your motherboard vendor and applythe patch. After the patch is installed and the system isrestarted, Windows will repeat the device discoveryprocess. If you are installing the operating system, goback to Step 14 and continue the procedure. If you areadding an Adaptec RAID controller to an existingconfiguration, go to Step 6 on page 3-17 and continue theprocedure.16 Insert the driver disk you created earlier (refer to page 3-11)and let Windows search for the drivers.17 Windows should identify the PCI card as Adaptec I2 O RAIDHost Adapter. Select Finish. At this point, you might needto force Windows to copy the driver from the floppy driveinstead of the CD drive.18 When prompted regarding testing the device ROM, selectCancel.19 Open the Device Manager. If the Other Devices categoryshows a PCI memory controller, select it, click the Drivertab, and select Update Driver.20 Let Windows search for the drivers on the disk your createdearlier (refer to page 3-11).21 Windows should now identify the PCI memory controller asAdaptec I2 O Memory Adapter. Select Finish. At this point,you might need to force Windows to copy the driver from thefloppy drive instead of the CD drive.
