7Wok BurnerThe wok burner is designed to provide even heat over a largearea. It is ideal for large pans and stir-frying (Fig.2-8).For heating smaller pans, the aforementioned hotplateburners may be more efficient.You can remove the burner parts for cleaning; see ‘Cleaningyour cooker’.You should wipe the enamel top surface of the cooker aroundthe hotplate burners as soon as possible after spills occur. Tryto wipe them off while the enamel is still warm.Note: The use of aluminum pans may cause metallic markingof the pan supports. This does not affect the durability of theenamel and may be cleaned off with an appropriate metalcleaner.The Multi-function OvenIMPORTANT: Before using the oven for the first time, todispel manufacturing odors, turn the oven to 395°F (200°C)in Fan assisted mode and run for one hour. To clear thesmell make sure the room is well ventilated to the outsideair, by opening windows or turning on your ventilationhood. DO NOT drop or rest objects on the door glass.Although the glass is very strong, a sharp blow or asharp falling object might cause the glass surface tocrack or break.During use the appliance becomes hot. Care should betaken to avoid touching the heating elements inside theoven.The oven is a multi-function oven (Fig.2-9). In addition toconvection elements around the fans, it is fitted with extraheating elements, in the top of the oven and under the ovenbase. Take care to avoid touching the top elements whenplacing or removing items from the oven. Do not place aluminum foil on bottom of ovencavity. This will cause the oven bottom to overheatand void warranty.The multifunction oven has 3 main cooking functions:convection, fan assisted and conventional cooking. Thesefunctions should be used to complete most of your cooking.The browning element and warming can be used in thelatter part of the cooking process to fine-tune the results toyour particular requirements.Use convection broiling for all your broiling needs and thawand serve to safely thaw small items of frozen food.Table 2-1 gives a summary of the multi-function modes.The multi-function oven has many varied uses. We suggestyou keep a careful eye on your cooking until you are familiarwith each function.
