NOTE: THESE INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD BE LEFT WITHTHE APPLIANCE AND THE USER TO RETAIN FORFUTURE REFERENCE.This booklet has been prepared in the interest of providingyou, the customer with basic information on the safe, correctuse of your AGA Gas Range.Instructions are provided on the operation and maintenanceafter care of the AGA range, and we would recommend thatyou read this instruction leaflet before you begin cooking.NOTE: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THISRANGE.Basic Range Safety Precautions1. Do not store combustible materials, gasoline orother inflammable vapors and liquids near a range.2. Ensure and maintain the continual free passage of airto the burner housing. Do not stand obstacles againstburner outer door and loose hair from dog or cats mustnot be allowed to accumulate behind the burner outerdoor.Child SafetyChildren MUST be taught safe range practices to preventpossible injury. Listed below are some basic practices werecommend you read and follow for safe use of thisappliance when children are present.Children are more sensitive to heat than adults, therefore:1. Do not leave children alone or unsupervised near therange and discourage them from this area.2. Children should not be allowed to mount on any part ofthe range.3. Children MUST be taught that the range and its utensilscan be hot.4. Children should be taught that the range is not a toy.They should be forbidden to play with the range gascontrols behind burner outer door or any other rangeparts.5. Let the heavy, hot utensils cool in a safe place but out ofreach of small children.CAUTION: AVOID STORING ITEMS ON INTEREST TOCHILDREN IN ANY CABINETS INSTALLED ABOVE THERANGE TO PREVENT THE RANGE BEING USED TOOBTAIN CABINET ACCESS AND POSSIBLE SERIOUSINJURY.Gas OdoursIf a gas odour is apparent with the pilot and main burneralight, turn off the gas supply to the range. Call your installeror local gas company to ensure that the gas pipework issound.WARNING: NEVER USE A MATCH OR NAKED FLAME TOLOCATE A GAS LEAK.Safety Precautions and HintsTemperatures in cabinet storage spaces above the rangemay be unsafe for storage of some types of materials suchas volatile liquids or aerosol sprays which can explode.Ensure spare storage cabinets are capable of supporting theheavy weight of cooking utensils of the range.The maximum depth of any cabinets installed above the topof the range must not exceed 330mm (13in).GreaseWARNING: HOT GREASE IS FLAMMABLE.Wipe off any grease deposits on the range top and front.Do not leave containers of cooking fat around the range.In the event of a grease fire, do not remove the pan but coverthe pan to extinguish the flame.WARNING: DO NOT DOUSE FLAME WITH WATER.Use a dry chemical type fire extinguisher if available, orsprinkle heavily with baking soda.Range Cooking Safety Precautions and HintsNever reach directly into a hot oven to add or removecooking utensils. Instead, pull the grill shelf out to itsmaximum projection and load or remove utensils.Oven gloves will be necessary on utensils removal.Although the range itself provides gently radiation andconvected warm air currents, it may not be used forincreased space heating by exposing the hotplate with theinsulating covers permanently raised or the oven doors leftopen. This instruction is based on safety considerationswhere accidents could occur, as does the use of ovens forstorage space.WARNING: DO NOT HEAT A CLOSED GLASS OR METALCONTAINER IN THE OVEN.Pressure-build in the container may cause it to burst andresult in harmful personal damageGeneral Safety Precautions and Hints for CookingUtensils.1.
