With specific exceptions, the installing of any type of AgaCooker is subject to the respective directions contained incurrent issue of The Building Regulations. In addition,Planning Permission may need to be obtained, whichshould be applied for separately. The complete range ofAga cookers are suitable for Natural or Propane gasesonly and cannot be used on any other gas.The complete cooker is floor-mounted and the space inwhich the appliance is to be fitted must have the followingminimum dimensions:-A minimum clearance of 60mm is required above theraised insulating cover handle.Side Clearances: A 3mm gap is required each sidebetween the cooker top plate and adjoining work surfacesthat maybe fitted, this is to allow for the safe removal ofthe top plate should this be required at a later date.Where cookers are fitted against side walls a 116mmclearance is required at the right hand side for oven doorsaccess. (A further 116mm is necessary if a left hand sidegas connection is required.If the Aga is to be installed in a brick recess, then theminimum clearances should be increased by at least10mm on either side, to allow for the walls not beingsquare and also for the natural dimensional variationsfound in the castings.In addition a minimum clearance of 1000mm must beavailable at the front of the cooker to enable the cooker tobe serviced.NOTE: AGA GAS FIRED COOKERS ARE DELIVEREDEX-WORKS UNASSEMBLED. ASSEMBLY ISUNDERTAKEN ON SITE BY THE AUTHORISED AGADISTRIBUTOR.Cooker Base or HearthIt is essential that the base or hearth on which the cookerstands should be level and be capable of supporting thetotal weight of the respective cooker.Models GC and GCB 406Kg, GE and GEB - 584Kg.The top of the hearth must be of non-combustible materialthickness of 12mm.The wall behind the cooker must be of non-combustiblematerial for a minimum thickness of 25mm.TilingWhen the cooker is to stand in a recess, or against a wallwhich is to be tiled, in no circumstances should the tilesoverlap the cooker top plate.Installation RequirementsThe installation of the cooker must be in accordance withthe relevant requirements of the Gas Safety Regulations,Building Regulations and the bylaws of the local WaterUndertaking.It should be in accordance also with any relevantrequirements of the Gas Region and Local Authority.In you own interest, and that of safety to comply with thelaw, all gas appliances should be installed by a competentperson, in accordance with the relative regulations.Failure to install appliances correctly could lead toprosecution.On completion, test the gas installation for soundness.REMEMBER, when replacing a part on this appliance,use only spare parts that you can be assured conform tothe safety and performance specification that we require.Do not use reconditioned or copy parts that have not beenclearly authorised by AGA.Installation Instructions forAga BF Gas Fired Cooker ModelsGC, GCB, GE and GEBConsumer ProtectionAs responsible manufacturers we take care to make sure that ourproducts are designed and constructed to meet the required safetystandards when properly installed and used.IMPORTANT NOTICE: PLEASE READ THE ACCOMPANYINGWARRANTY. When handling avoid inhaling and contact with skin oreyes. Use disposable gloves, face-masks and eye protection. Afterhandling wash hands and other exposed parts.
