5.2 Defrosting of the refrigeratorFrost is automatically eliminated fromthe evaporator of the refrigerator com-partment every time the motor compres-sor stops, during normal use. The de-frost water drains out through a troughinto a special container at the back ofthe appliance, over the motor compres-sor, where it evaporates.Periodically clean the defrost water drainhole in the middle of the refrigeratorcompartment channel to prevent the wa-ter overflowing and dripping onto thefood inside. Use the special cleaner pro-vided, which you will find already inser-ted into the drain hole.5.3 Defrosting of the freezerThe freezer compartment of this model,on the other hand, is a "no frost" type. This means that there is no buildup offrost when it is in operation, neither onthe internal walls nor on the foods. The absence of frost is due to the con-tinuous circulation of cold air inside thecompartment, driven by an automaticallycontrolled fan.5.4 Periods of non-operationWhen the appliance is not in use forlong periods, take the following precau-tions:• disconnect the appliance from elec-tricity supply• remove all food• defrost (if foreseen) and clean the ap-pliance and all accessories• leave the door/doors ajar to preventunpleasant smells. If the cabinet will be kept on, ask some-body to check it once in a while to pre-vent the food inside from spoiling incase of a power failure.6.
