CARE AND CLEANINGWARNING!Refer to the Safety chapters.Notes on cleaning:• Clean the front of the appliance with asoft cloth with warm water and acleaning agent.• To clean metal surfaces, use a usualcleaning agent.• Clean the appliance interior after eachuse. Then you can remove dirt moreeasily and it does not burn on.• Clean stubborn dirt with a specialoven cleaner.• Clean all accessories after each useand let them dry. Use a soft cloth withwarm water and a cleaning agent.• If you have nonstick accessories, donot clean them using aggressiveagents, sharp-edged objects or a dish-washer. It can cause damage to thenonstick coating.11.1 Pyrolytic cleaningRemove all accessories and re-movable shelf supports.Do not start the pyrolytic clean-ing if you did not fully close theoven door. In some models, thedisplay shows “C3” when this er-ror occurs.1. Remove the worst dirt manually.2. Set the Pyrolytic cleaning function.Refer to "Oven functions".3. When flashes, press or toset the necessary procedure:– P1 – If the oven is not very dirty.The procedure is 1:30 h long.– P2 – If you cannot easily removethe dirt. The procedure is 2:30 hlong.After 2 seconds the procedurestarts.To change the default length of theprocedure (P1 or P2), press to set, and then press or to setthe length of the pyrolytic proce-dure.You can use the End function to de-lay the start of the cleaning proce-dure.When the oven is at its set tempera-ture, the door locks. The displayshows the symbol and the bars ofthe heat indicator until the door un-locks.During pyrolytic cleaning thelamp is off.Cleaning reminderTo remind you that the pyrolytic clean-ing is necessary, PYR flashes in the dis-play for 10 seconds after each activationand deactivation of the appliance.The cleaning reminder goesout:• After the end of the Pyrolyticcleaning function.• If you press “ " and “ ”at the same time while PYRflashes in the display.28 www.aeg.com/au
