– 22 –PANIC KEYS(FOR MANUALLY ACTIVATING SILENT AND/OR AUDIBLE ALARMS)UsingPanic Keys Your system may have been programmed to use special keys to manually activate panicfunctions. The functions that might be programmed are listed below. See your installer for thefunction(s) that may have been programmed for your system.Your installershould note thefunctions thatare active inyour system.Active Panic FunctionsKeys Zone Function1 and Q 953 and # 96Q and # 99A* 95B* 99C* 96* May not be present on your keypad(s).To use a paired key panic function, simply press both keys of the assigned pair at the sametime. If your keypad has lettered keys for panic functions, press the designated key and holddown for at least 2 seconds to activate the panic function.Types of PanicAlarms* If your system isconnected to analarm monitoringcompany.A silent emergency sends an alarm signalto the alarm monitoring company,* but therewill be no audible alarms or visual displays.An audible emergency sends anemergency message to the alarm monitoringcompany* and sounds a loud, steady alarmat your keypad and at any external soundersthat may be connected (ALARM plus a zonenumber is also displayed).A personal emergency alarm sends anemergency message to the alarm monitoringcompany* and sounds at keypads, but not atexternal sounders. ( A L A R M plus a zonenumber is also displayed)A fire alarm sends a fire alarm message tothe alarm monitoring company* and uniquelyactivates keypad and any external sounders(FIRE plus a zone number is also displayed).
