Application Software Upgrade 53The user can decide whether the SDRAM has fault by checking the LEDstatus of the router. During the router’s POST, the SLOT1 to 3 LEDs andSERIAL0 LED will be ON first. In this case, if the SLOT1 and SLOT2 LEDslight, it can be concluded that the SDRAM test has failed. If the SDRAM is damaged, replace it with a new one (before opening thechassis, please contact the agent of 3Com Corporation Co, Ltd. and gethis permission to continue with the operation). For the operationmethod, please refer to Section 6.2 “Maintain the Hardware” in thismanual.ApplicationSoftware UpgradeFault 1: When upgrading the software using the TFTP approach, thesystem displays the following message:Loading... tftpGet: Error occurred while transferring thefile. An Error Occurred!:tftp transfer failed: error 0x43download error!!!Something is wrong. Please check.Troubleshooting: The symptom described above means that the newsoftware version has not been loaded. Fault isolation can be carried outfrom three aspects:■ Check the TFTP server to see whether information can be sent. If not,the problem is likely to result from an incorrectly-configured TFTPserver IP address. In this case, make sure that IP address of the TFTPserver is the IP address of the network interface on the PC, to whichthe Ethernet interface is connected. (For the procedure of selecting anEthernet interface for TFTP upgrade on the Router 5000.Run the winipcfg command and the system will prompt the IP address ofthe Ethernet interface.■ If Windows prompts “The system detected conflict between the IPaddress xxxx and the system hardware address xxxx” in this case, it isvery likely that the IP address of the TFTP server was incorrectlyassigned to the upgrading Ethernet interface on the Router.■ Check the TFTP server. If it prompts “The system cannot find thespecified file”, , check whether the path set on the TFTP server and thefile name (including the extension) of the application software set onthe Router are correct.
