7Rating plate• This is situated on the lower front frame of theappliance and can be seen upon opening the door.Alternatively the rating plate may also be found onthe back or top of some models (where applicable).• The appliance must be protected by a suitablyrated fuse or circuit breaker.• The rating of the appliance is given on the ratingplate.• Do not remove the rating plate from theappliance as this may invalidate the guarantee.Preparing to use your appliance• Carefully check whether there is any damage afteryou unpack the appliance. If there is any defect; donot use the appliance and contact your retailerimmediately. As the materials used for packaging(nylon, stapler, Styrofoam etc.) may cause harmfuleffects to children, they should be collected andremoved immediately.• For your safety wall coverings at the rear of theappliance should be securely fixed to the wall.• Wipe over the base of the oven(s) with a soft clothusing hot soapy water. Wash the oven furniturebefore use.• We suggest that you run the oven(s) and grill for 1015 minutes at maximum temperature, to burn offany residue from their surfaces. Accessible partsmay become hotter than in normal use. Childrenshould be kept away. During this period an odourmay be emitted, it is therefore advisable to open awindow for ventilation.Control panel indicator neon(s)• The following items of grill and oven furniture havebeen supplied with the appliance. If you requirereplacements of any of the items listed belowplease contact your local service force centre.• The indicator neon will operate when the grill(Where applicable) or oven(s) is switched on. Theindicator neon will glow. It may turn on and offduring use to show that the setting is beingmaintained. If the neon does not operate as theinstructions indicate the controls have beenincorrectly set. Return all controls to zero and resetfollowing the instructions for the required setting.Condensation and steam• When food is heated it produces steam similar to aboiling kettle. The vents allow some of this steam toescape. However, always stand back from theappliance when opening the door(s) to allow anybuild up of steam or heat to release.• If the steam comes into contact with a cool surfaceon the outside of the appliance, e.g. a trim, it willcondense and produce water droplets.
