16Electrical connectionAny electrical work required to install this applianceshould be carried out by a qualified electrician orcompetent person.WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BEEARTHED.The manufacturer declines any liabilityshould this safety measure not be observed.Before switching on, make sure the electricity supplyvoltage is the same as that indicated on theappliance’s rating plate. (See picture on page 5).The appliance is supplied with a 13amp plug fitted.In the event of having to change the fuse in the plugsupplied, a 13amp ASTA approved (BS1362) fusemust be used.Should the plug need to be replaced for any reason,proceed as described below.The wires in the mains lead are coloured inaccordance with the following code:Green and Yellow - EarthBlue - NeutralBrown - LiveThe wire coloured green and yellow must beconnected to the terminal marked with the letter «E»or by the earth symbol or coloured green andyellow. The wire coloured blue must be connected to theterminal «N» or coloured black.The wire coloured brown must be connected to theterminal marked «L» or coloured red.Upon completion there must be no cut, or straystrands of wire present and the cord clamp must besecure over the outer sheath.WARNING:A cut off plug inserted into a 13 amp socketis a serious safety (shock) hazard.Ensure that the cut off plug is disposed ofsafely.The power supply cable must be accessibleafter installing the machine.Permanent connectionIn the case of permanent connection it is necessarythat you install a double pole switch between theappliance and the electricity supply (mains), with aminimum gap of 3mm between the switch contactsand of a type suitable for the required load incompliance with the current electrical regulations.The switch must not break the yellow and green earthcable at any point.125986503.qxp 2007-07-11 08:45 Page 16
