Maintenance work to be completed every 48 months52 HDK350_EN_01_2005-05-10Maintenance work to be completed every 48 monthsTo complete the following maintenance tasks, you must dismantle the pipebridges and the vessels. We therefore recommend that you carry out these taskstogether.Note:In accordance with national regulations, a pressure vessel inspectionmay be prescribed to be carried out at regular intervals by anindependent supervisory office. For an inspection of the pressure vessels, the drying agent must beremoved as described as follows. When inspecting the pressure vessels, it is recommended to check thecondition of all fittings such as e.g. sieve bottoms and dust sieves, including gaskets. If necessary, these fittings must be cleaned orrenewed. In the event of comprehensive maintenance or repair tasks, contactthe manufacturer (see page 9).Renew drying agentThe service life of the drying agent is usually approx. 3 to 5 years. However, infavourable installation conditions, the change of drying agent may be carried outat a substantially later date (for notes on the installation site, see also page 24).The change interval depends very significantly from the degree of contaminationin the compressed air (or the quality of the compressed air upstream filters). Oil,dust, and dirt particles cover the drying agent surface and reduce its effectivesurface, in part quite irreversibly. If in doubt, have a sample of your drying agent assessed by specialists. Send asample of approx. 200 g to the manufacturer (for address, see page 9).Note:The vessels are equipped with dust sieves that hold back drying agentdust particles. If these dust sieves are blocked, back pressure is builtup, which might affect the proper functioning of the dryer. We therefore recommend cleaning, or replacing, the dust sieves eachtime the drying agent is replaced.Comply with the following safety notes when changing the drying agent:
