INSTRUCTION SUPPLEMENT FOR2001-LATER YAMAHA RAPTORRemoving stock carburetor and cables1. Make sure fuel petcock is in “off”position. Remove seat, frontfenders and fuel tank.2. Remove throttle cables payingclose attention to routing, as thenew cables will need too be routedthe same.3. Remove stock carburetors.4. Remove stock manifolds and airboots coming from air box.5. Stuff a dry, clean rag into theintake manifold to keep debris fromentering engine.6. Remove two (2) bolts holding airbox in place.Installing the Edelbrock Induction kit1. Install the provided throttle cables intoOEM throttle housing (If using thumbthrottle kit) or for twist throttle, installthrottle cables into supplied throttlehousing and onto handle bars.2. Remove the hex pipe plug from thecarb cap using a 11mm or 7/16 wrench.Do not discard plug, as it will beneeded later. Install the meteringadjustment tool included in thehardware kit. Do not over-tighten asdamage may occur to cap.3. Install provided fuel line onto fuel inletbanjo and secure with pinch clamp.4. Install rubber flange onto manifoldusing supplied bolts and washers. SeeFig 1.Figure 1.5. Install gasket and manifold onto engineusing four (4) M6.1X1” flange headscrews supplies in kit. See Fig 2.Figure 2.6. Remove stock air box clamps from airboots and install onto rubber hosesattached to plenum. See Fig 3.Figure 3.7. Place plenum onto front of air box andtighten clamps. Make sure rubberhoses are pushed all the way onto airbox.8. Place Edelbrock carburetor intomanifold. Do not tighten clamp yet.9. Stretch rubber hose onto front of carb.Thumb Throttle Installation1. Remove the cable bracket end fromcable bracket using #2 phillips.2. For thumb cable installation, installcable end into the 4:00 position ofthe cable wheel and theshouldered end into the bottom slotof the cable bracket and secure byreplacing cable bracket and Phillipsscrew. See Fig 4.Figure 4. |
