XBLUE Network 1696.5 RestrictionCall RestrictionThis chapter defines each of the parameters of the Restriction data category, and lists thefactory setting and other possible settings that can be selectedDuring Display Menu programming scroll through the menu options until you are at pro-gram “Restriction”. To enter the Restriction Programming area press the “show” key.Line Call DiscriminationLine Call Discrimination refers to the ability of an extension user to place certain calls onCO Lines. The guidelines defined in these parameters can be applied to an extension bymeans of its Class Of Service. Allowed dialing is input in ranges. In its simplest form anextension can be allowed to dial any number beginning with a digit from 0 to 9. In thesame way an extension can be restricted to dialing only numbers beginning with digits 2through 9.There are 100 table entries that can be set up in ranges called “Intervals”. Each Intervalprovides for digits in the “From” and “To” parameters. Intervals are programmed with thedigit sequences that are to be allowed at the extensions with the associated Class Of Ser-vice. Given this brief example, if an extension is to be limited to calls that do not begin with0 or 1, the table Interval entry would be From 2, To 9. Each Interval “From” parameter and“To” parameter has the capacity for up to 10 digits. In the example below extensions withClass Of Service “4” can dial telephone numbers beginning with “50” and “51” but are notable to dial telephone numbers beginning with “52”~”58”.Intervals are assigned to Classes Of Service for extensions and CO Lines. Therefore anextension that is allowed to dial a telephone number on one CO Line may not be able todial that same number on a different CO Line. Class Of Service settings are applied in boththe Day and Night Service Modes. Therefore dialing characteristics can be different forExtensions and CO Lines based on the time of day and operating mode of the system.
