Loading Your DishwasherThis section tells how to properly load your dishwasher for best washing and rinsing results.Preparing to load the dishwasherl To save water and energy, do not rinsedishes before putting them into thedishwasher.l Remove large pieces of food, bones, andother hard items. The POWER CLEANTMmodule removes food particles from thewater. The module contains a choppingdevice which reduces the size of food items.NOTE: If hard items such as fruit seeds,nuts, and egg shells enter the POWERCLEAN module, you might hear chopping,grinding, crunching, or buzzing sounds.Those sounds are normal when hard itemsenter the module. Do not let metallic items(such as pot handle screws) get into thePOWER CLEAN module. Damage canoccur.l Foods like eggs, rice, pasta, and cookedcereals may be hard to remove if left to dryover a period of time. Run a Rinse/WashLater cycle to keep dishes moist if you donot plan to wash them soon.l Load dishes so soiled surfaces face therotating spray arm.l Load dishes so they are not stacked oroverlapping. It is important for the waterspray to reach all soiled surfaces for bestwashing. For best drying, water must beable to drain from all surfaces.Loading for quiet operationl Secure lightweight load items in the racks.l Pot lids and handles, pizza pans, cookiesheets, etc., should not touch interiorwalls, interfere with the spray arm’srotation, or cover the spray tower.l Load dishes so they do not touch oneanother.NOTE: Keep sink drain plugs insertedduring dishwasher operation to preventnoise transfer through drains.
