AV ADDIO™/CANON® BU-S ERIES PTZ C AMERASCanon BU-45H Outdoor & BU-50H Indoor PTZ Cameras including Vaddioaccessories for easy integration with ProductionVIEW HD-SDI & Precision CameraController.OVERVIEWThe Canon BU Series PTZ cameras (see Figure1) are broadcast quality PTZ cameras, builtaround the Canon XH-G1 camcorder technology.With three 1/3”, 1.67 megapixel CCDs and a20x optical zoom lens, the BU series camerasare ideal for virtually any indoor or outdoorapplication.The BU Series cameras are easily integratedwith the Vaddio ProductionVIEW HD-SDI andPrecision Camera Controller, with the includedVaddio cables and adapters.In addition, the native RS-422 found on the BU-45H is converted to RS-232 for operation withboth ProductionVIEW HD-SDI and PrecisionCamera Controller.Optional accessories include both a wall mountand a pedestal mount for the indoor BU-50H.INTENDED USEBefore installing the Canon BU Series Camera System, please read this entire manual thoroughly, as well asthe manual that was provided with the Canon PTZ camera. While the BU-45H is designed for outdoor use,the BU-50H camera system is designed for use indoors. Outdoor operation of the BU-50H is notrecommended, has not been tested, and could damage the camera and/or create a potentially unsafeoperating condition. Use only the Vaddio PowerRite power supply provided with the BU-45H.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONSThe information contained in this manual will help you install the Canon BU PTZ camera. For reference,Vaddio keeps copies of Specifications, Installation and User Guides and most pertinent product drawings forthe Vaddio product line on the website. These documents can be downloaded from www.vaddio.com.IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDSRead and understand all instructions before using. Do not operate any electrical device if it has beendropped or damaged. In this case, a Vaddio technician must examine the product before operating.
